Re: "Rewrite pay-to-play rules" (Open Forum, Aug. 28): As one of the 83 percent who feel the Legislature is not working for me, I support the California Fair Elections Act. Like everyone else, politicians work for those who employ them. If the public wants them to work for the public good, it has to pay them. In the long run, Fair Elections will be more cost-effective in delivering services to ordinary Californians than the current pay-to-play system, which benefits only well-heeled special interests.
