California Fair Elections Campaign Announces Resounding Support from Bay Area Legislative Leaders
SACRAMENTO, CA -- The California Fair Elections campaign today announced that twenty-one Bay Area legislators have joined the California Fair Elections Act's (CFEA) growing list of endorsers. Appearing on the June 8, 2010 ballot, the Fair Elections Act, authored by Loni Hancock and signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, would establish a voluntary pilot public financing program for the 2014 and 2018 Secretary of State races. "One year from election day, our campaign is off to a running start," said Mike Roth, spokesperson for the California Fair Elections campaign. "These strong, early endorsements from Bay Area legislators send a clear message that the California Fair Elections Act is gaining the momentum we need to bring about the changes voters want to see in Sacramento."
